I watch you float away,
Pretty red balloon can’t forever staylike my life, pretty balloon,
flying away, gone to soon.
Up you float so far and fast,
Like my life, the time has passed.
Laughter whispers on the breeze,
A gentle breath sways the trees.
Above me drifts imagination,
below are fields of God’s creation.
Resting on the hill of age,
I stop to watch life’s fleeting stage.
Moment’s fly at frightening pace,
As if to win a losing race.
Childhood crawls on unsure legs,
With carefree bliss and joyful days.
Youthful legs run strong and fast,
Seeing a blur as life runs past.
Age stops and takes a needed rest,
Pausing time that seemed so pressed.
Imagination calls me to continue on,
To learn the mystery of what lies beyond.
On the wings of eagles perhaps I’ll soar,
And my feet will touch this earth no more.
